Why Woodbone

Dogs chew because they have to — it’s how they handle boredom, anxiety, and the urge to explore. Give them the wrong thing, and your furniture pays the price. Give them the right thing, and they settle, focus, and calm down.

Woodbone chews are made from solid coffee and olive wood — two of nature’s densest, safest materials. No glue, no additives, no artificial anything. Just wood your dog will actually want to chew, for hours at a time.

How to choose: If your dog chews through everything — go coffee wood. If they’re a puppy, a smaller breed, or new to natural chews — start with olive. Not sure which size? See the size guide → or compare the two woods →

FAQ: Natural Dog Chews

Are natural wood dog chews safe for dogs?

Yes — when properly sourced and made, like ours.

Woodbone chews are crafted from 100% natural olive and coffee wood, with no chemicals, additives or splinters. They’re tested for safety and suitable for most dogs, including power chewers.

How long do natural wood chews last?

That depends on your dog’s chewing style.

Light chewers may enjoy a single chew for weeks, while aggressive chewers may go through it faster — but even then, these chews typically last longer than synthetic alternatives.

Do natural chews smell or stain furniture?

Nope!

Woodbone chews are odourless, mess-free and don’t stain. Unlike rawhide or meat-based options, they’re clean and dry — perfect for indoor chewing.

Are natural wood chews good for dental health?

Yes.

The natural texture gently cleans teeth and gums as your dog chews — helping reduce plaque buildup and freshen breath, without added chemicals.

What size chew is best for my dog?

Use our size guide:

XS / S – Small breeds & puppies
M – Medium breeds
L / XL – Large dogs or power chewers

When in doubt, size up, not down — safety first.

Are your chews eco-friendly and sustainable?

Absolutely.

Our chews are made from naturally fallen wood (no trees are cut down!) and are fully biodegradable. We ship plastic-free across the UK.

How fast is delivery?

We offer free UK-wide delivery in 3 working days — tracked and reliable.

Is it safe if my dog swallows small wood pieces?

Our dog chew toys are made from natural coffee and olive wood — both safe and non-toxic. Tiny wood fibres may come off during chewing, which is normal and generally safe to swallow in small amounts. However, dogs should always be supervised while chewing to avoid over-aggressive use or breaking the toy into sharp pieces. If the chew becomes too small or heavily worn, we recommend replacing it for your dog’s safety.

Should I supervise my dog while they chew?

Yes — especially for the first few sessions. Supervision lets you confirm the size is right and that your dog is chewing safely rather than biting off large chunks.

Once the chew gets small enough that it could be swallowed whole, remove and replace it. With normal use, Woodbone chews are among the safest options available — but no chew should be left unattended with a dog.

Can I return it if my dog doesn't like it?

We accept unused products within 30 days of delivery. If your dog didn't show interest, please contact us — we're happy to help.

What is the difference between olive wood and coffee wood chews?

Both are made from 100% natural wood and are safe for dogs. Coffee wood is slightly denser and ideal for power chewers. Olive wood has a softer texture, making it great for moderate chewers or first-time users. Some dogs simply prefer one texture over the other — try both in our bundle to find your dog’s favourite.

Does coffee wood contain caffeine? Is it safe for dogs?

No — there is no caffeine in coffee wood. Caffeine is found in the coffee bean, not in the wood of the tree. Coffee wood is simply the branch or root of the coffee plant, and it contains none of the stimulants that make coffee beans problematic for dogs. It is completely safe.

Is this safer than sticks my dog picks up in the park?

Yes — significantly. Sticks from parks can contain bacteria, fungi, pesticides, and toxic species (yew, oak, and others can be harmful). They also splinter into sharp shards.

Woodbone chews are made from known, food-safe wood — coffee and olive — cleaned, dried, and checked before shipping. Far safer than whatever your dog finds on their walk.
